The unique and patented design of Flex Trim’s disc heads makes them usable for almost any type of sanding. The angle of the disc heads ensures that the dust is thrown out instead of gathering in the middle. This would be the case if the disc head was flat. The angle also ensures an uniform sanding. By having a higher pressure in the middle it compensates for the higher outer peripheral speed and this results in uniform sanding. The angle also ensures that the disc heads are easier to control by manual sanding.
Disc heads are perfect for manual sanding of roundings and big surfaces, and can be used for sanding of rough composite items as well as for sanding after filler, gel-coat or lacquering. Disc heads are also often used for deburring/removal of moulding edges
Disc heads ensure a perfect and uniform surface without holes, and are useful as a quick, cheap and efficient alternative to sand blasting and traditional sanding with orbital sander.
Combining Flex Trim’s core system with the flexible sanding brushes results in a uniform surface, even on items with small round holes and complex designs.
Flex Trim’s sanding system can be used for the following tasks:
- Sanding of wind turbine blades
- Activating surfaces for improved adhesion
- Delustring of surfaces
- Sanding between coating/lacquering
- Removal of moulding edges
- Rounding of sharp edges
- Cleaning of casting mold
- Removal of release agents
